Help us stock a Tool Library in Ventura
Why buy it? Borrow it. We're building a Tool Library where Ventura County neighbors can borrow instead of buying new.

Outgrown your gear? Have tools you rarely use? Cleaning out your garage? Donate your tools, gear, gadgets, etc. and we’ll make them available to the community to borrow. You can continue to borrow them when you need them, along with anything else in the library!

What is a tool library?
A tool library is a community resource that operates just like a traditional library, but instead of books, it loans out tools, hardware, and equipment. It functions as part of the "sharing economy," allowing individuals to access gear for home improvement, gardening, repairs, recreation and more without purchasing it outright.
Who invented Libraries of Things and Tool Lending Libraries?
People have been sharing tools for as long as there have been tools.
The first tool lending operation we know about started in 1976 in Columbus, Ohio, and is still open for business. In 1979, the City of Berkeley, California opened a tool lending library as a branch of its public library system.
